Hector Andres López Mariaca

Hector is a junior officer & provides project management support. He holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Health from Wageningen University and Research, The Netherlands (2024), and a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Autonomous University of Morelos State, Mexico (2019). He also completed postgraduate studies in plant-based diets, ethics and food sovereignty at the National University of Rosario, Argentina (2020).

His academic and professional journey has focused on supporting the transition toward healthier and more sustainable diets in Latin America and Europe, using a systems approach and participatory methods engaging with different stakeholders.

Before joining glocolearning, Hector worked with the Pan American Health Organization on initiatives to address malnutrition in Latin America, where he supported the development of a roadmap to assist food systems transformation in the region. He also worked independently as a dietitian, using social media to promote the adoption of healthy and sustainable diets among youth in Mexico and across Latin America. He facilitated workshops and developed online courses to make science-based nutrition more accessible to all.
